Rehearsals 25th June and 2nd July

Hi all,

Only two rehearsals left until Tynwald Day, so we’ll concentrate on getting our repertoire up to performance standard.

On the 25th we’ll start at the beginning of the list below and play through the set as we would on Tynwald day.  …. although I’ll leave time to also run through Pink Panther as this is the only tune I have some doubts about.

Can you please make sure you have your tunes in your folders and in order, so that we don’t waste time running from one tune to the next – ta.   I think we’re in pretty good shape generally, so if we have spare time we’ll look at some of our newer tunes such as Gershwin’s Lullaby and the Sixties Medley.

Cheers Jem

Weekly Catch-up

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for a really good session last night – a solid turnout and some excellent sight-reading.  I was really impressed with our treatment of Periflage and Gershwin’s Lullaby,  The latter should appear on the music library soon, thanks to Jackie’s efforts in transcribing.

We have Ben with us next week, so we’ll rehearse tunes for Tynwald (see list below).  David – why not bring along your Sop again, so we can run “When I’m 64” ?  I’ll bring my Tenor along for a laugh and we can do a swap.

Tunes for the upcoming week (18th) are listed below, but please bring your parts for all of the currrent repertoire, so we can maintain some flexibility.  Ta.

Rehearsal Tunes – Mon June 18th

Availability for Concerts and Weekend Events

Hi all,

So we know who’s available for our upcoming commitments, I’ve created a web-form which I’d like you to fill in.

It’s at …. http://www.saxband.co.uk/availability.html

Can you please make sure you complete this by next Monday (18th June) ta.

You’ll notice that all entries are set to Yes initially.  You then either leave them as Yes if you are available (or can’t think of a reason why you’re not !) … or set them to No if you know you can’t make it.  Please don’t send any other replies.

…. Oh – and don’t forget to include your name or I’ve no way of telling who’s answered.

Cheers Jem
