Rehearsal Mon 28th JanuaryPosted: January 24, 2013
As I said in my last post, we now have to focus on putting together a good showing for the Peel Pensioners concert on Mar 6th. We need around 40 – 45 minutes of interesting material (that they haven’t heard in the past couple of years), and we have just 6 weeks to put it all into good order.
With this in mind, I’ve made some subtle adjustments to our repertoire list – please see part allocations for details.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue with most of the tunes we started out with this term, but we’ll take a few to the side to be picked up after the Peel Pensioners Concert. The ones we’ll put on hold are … ‘Sway, Latin Americana #4, As Time goes By’.
The coming Monday (28th), our Running order will be …. Manx Dances, Bill Bailey, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Gershwin’s Lullaby, Lemon Meringue, 60’s Medley … or as many as we have time for !
.. then the following week, we’ll introduce some new, old tunes (see below). Please ensure you have your parts for these (with appropriate spares) ready for our rehearsal on Monday 4th Feb.
Lastly, the Senior Group (Ben, David, Guy, Jane M., Steph and myself) will work on three tunes to take the pressure off the rest of the team a little for the upcoming concert.
