Lead up to the Workshop Weekend

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks all for a really good ‘return to work’ session last night.   It’s the first time I’d had to take an extended break from rehearsals and it was great to get stuck back in … and with excellent results.  Particular thanks to David for running a couple of sessions for me, in March.

Here’s a quick run down of our approach to the weekend (be prepared for me to tell you all this stuff several times !).

Next week (Monday) will be dedicated to giving everyone a ‘heads-up’ on various pieces for the weekend – I’ll confirm the detailed repertoire with Alistair this week, but it should include ;

Songs of the British Isles, Carnival, All in Good Time, Have you met Miss Jones … and I’d like us to add Persiflage (Alistair’s piece) and a mini compilation of my own that I’ll send out later 🙂

The weekend will kick off on Friday 19th April at Eastcliffe – 7:45pm for an 8 o’clock start with Alistair – who will  then set the details for the rest of the weekend (Saturday, and Sunday morning).

The concert on the Sunday at All Saints (starts 4pm) will feature music from the weekend, plus a selection from our current repertoire – based on last night’s practice session.  Please help to make the Sunday concert a success by bring along the audience !   If everyone brings three friends ‘n family members, we’ll have a minimum 30+ audience in addition to anyone from the church congregation, and the event should go swimmingly.

The concert is free – although we’ll obviously put the begging bowl out at the end !

See you on Monday if not before.  Cheers Jem
