MSE – Christmas Busking and Concerts

Hi all,

Our first trip out this year saw us off to a really good start to the season.  Musically, I thought that it was the best overall sound we’d produced in a season opener, with folks playing sensitively and in keeping with the music.  Some of the carols sounded particularly mellow.  We were rewarded with cheers, claps, and some folks even stopped to listen.   Matt tells me that we made £162 in the buckets, so again a good result and especially so given the fact that Douglas is awash this year with everything from massed bands to lone guitarists!

Also – a big thanks go to Jackie and Tracey for turning up to swell the ranks !

Rehearsals

We won’t have David or Matt tomorrow (Monday Dec 1st), so we’ll run some sectional stuff and get more familiar with our Christmas tunes to extend the repertoire a little.

This means that the Monday rehearsal on the 8th will be the last before the Glen Maye concert – so please make sure you’re solid on all the current tunes, and we’ll have a playlist run-through.  We’ll need everyone at this rehearsal !  I’ll send out a final playlist (in order) today.

Our Christmas season is actually looking quite busy, and I’m looking forward to it – please review the list below to make sure there are no nasty surprises in store !  ta.
