Unfortunately as Jas cannot make tonight (and David is already unable to make it as he’s off island), we don’t have a reasonable set of tunes to run through.
Accordingly, I see no alternative but to cancel tonight’s planned rehearsal.
Sorry about the short notice.
Can you please let me know by email – firstname.lastname@example.org or by ‘phone 329160 that you’ve received this message.
Many thanks, Jem
Hope you’re enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend !
As Monday is also a holiday, this is just a reminder that we’ve moved the rehearsal to Tuesday this week – same time and place though – start playing at 7:15.
In other news, Pauline and I have put back our travel plans a little, which means we’ll have a run of four weekly practices (inc. this Tuesday) to put our musical house in order.
Assuming our preparation goes well, we can then look to put on a concert pretty much any time in May to suit our availability.
See you Tues. Cheers Jem
After the last couple of weeks, I thought it would be a good idea to send out a more positive message – namely that the rehearsal tomorrow evening is ON !
Let’s meet at the standard time of 7pm, ready to play by 7:15 please. We’ll re-group to see how things have progressed over the past couple of weeks, and agree what we can do for a concert at the Westlands centre.
Things over in Lincolnshire have settled down a wee bit, with Pauline’s dad being released from hospital after a rather narrow scare.
We’re looking to return to the island on Weds or Thurs, but unfortunately we won’t be back for this coming Monday (14th), so we’ll have to skip another rehearsal.
The two missed rehearsals meant that I had to ask the folks at Peel Pensioners to find someone else to cover our slot on the 23rd, and they have kindly done so.
When I get back (I should be safely back in time for Monday the 21st), we can take a team view as to what’s required to get our repertoire up to scratch, and we luckily have an open-dated invite to play at the Westlands centre in Peel when we’re ready – so we won’t have wasted our efforts in learning our current set of tunes.
Once again, apologies to all for the interruption in service – we’ll get back on track as soon as possible and make sure we have a concert date or two before David leaves us !
p.s. – the new motorhome is nicely comfortable – a bloody good job really as we’ve been living in it since the start of the month !
Pauline’s dad is to stay in hospital for a wee while, so we’ve postponed our return.
This means that we’ll need to cancel the upcoming rehearsal and review next steps as soon as we know more from the medical staff. I’m really sorry that I can’t be more specific at the moment, but I’m sure you’ll appreciate Pauline’s need to stay close a hand at the moment.
Please keep up your practice based on the current playlist and special tunes – I hope we’ll still be able to play at Peel Pensioners, but can’t be definite at the moment.
As you may already know, Pauline and I are across at the moment, visiting her Dad Norman.
Unfortunately, Norman is very unwell and has just been taken into hospital. As a result, we’re potentially e
xtending our stay – in which case we won’t be back for Monday’s rehearsal session.
Can you please keep an eye on your email inboxes as I’ll send a further note about the rehearsal.
Sorry about the short notice – more soon,
